High Stakes Treasure Map 3 Location Guide

8 August 2026 | 54

Finding hidden riches in Red Dead Redemption 2 requires patience, navigation skills, and a keen eye for environmental clues. The High Stakes treasure hunt is one of the most rewarding quests in the game, culminating in a final cache that many players struggle to locate. This guide will help you navigate the treacherous terrain safely to claim your prize.

Reaching the Rocky Ridge Near Fort Wallace

The third and final map directs players toward the imposing rocky cliffs situated northeast of Fort Wallace. To begin your final approach, travel along the main path leading east around the front perimeter of the fort. From there, veer off the road to ascend the hill located on the backside of the large rock formation.

Once you reach the summit, look closely for a narrow, hidden path tucked neatly between the two prominent rocky peaks. Carefully follow this trail downward until you arrive at the lower cliffside overlooking the valley below. Turning left at this point will position you perfectly for the most technical part of the journey.

Navigating the Dangerous Cliffside Ledge

The path quickly narrows into a very thin ramp that rises slightly as it wraps around the steep corner of the cliff face. It is highly recommended to slow down and press the crouch button to maintain your balance on the slippery footing. Moving too quickly or approaching the curve at a bad angle can cause your character to slip and slide downward.

Keep moving forward along the wall until you come across a small drop in the rocky path ahead. Drop down carefully to the stone surface below, then immediately spin around to find another lower ledge. Make one final calculated jump across the gap to land safely on the platform directly beneath the massive overhang.

Claiming the Three Gold Bars Stashed in the Rocks

Once you successfully stick the final landing, you will need to crouch deeply to squeeze under a low, rocky roof. Follow this final narrow crevice to its absolute end where the search prompt will finally appear on your screen. Tucked safely away in the stone cavities are three valuable gold bars ready to be added to your inventory.

These prized items can be taken to any fence across the map to be sold for a massive payout of fifteen hundred dollars. Obtaining this substantial wealth will allow you to upgrade your camp equipment or purchase premium firearms for future encounters. With the final cache discovered, you will also successfully complete this segment of the Explorer Challenge.
