Locating the Sacred Forest and the Lost Woods

To reach the Master Sword, players must journey to the Great Hyrule Forest located in the northern region of Hyrule, just northeast of Hyrule Castle. The entrance to this sacred area is guarded by the Lost Woods, a mysterious mist-filled forest that resets any adventurer who strays from the correct path. Navigating through the fog requires careful attention to environmental cues, such as the direction of drifting embers or wind patterns.

By carrying a lit torch and following the direction in which the sparks float, players can safely navigate through the dense trees. Continuing along this guided path eventually leads directly into the Korok Forest, a peaceful clearing at the heart of the woods. Once inside, players will find the Master Sword resting in a stone pedestal directly in front of the Great Deku Tree.

Understanding the Heart Container Requirement

Finding the pedestal is only half the battle, as pulling the Master Sword from its resting place demands immense physical strength from Link. The trial slowly drains Link's health as he pulls, requiring a minimum total of 13 permanent Heart Containers to successfully extract the weapon.
